Guy Savoy, star of French cuisine, guest on the show Top Chef

In March 2021, Guy Savoy appeared for the first time on the popular French TV show Top Chef.

His participation gave viewers a fresh opportunity to rediscover the artistry and emotion of this three-Michelin-starred chef, who also signs the menu at Le Paradis Latin.

Guy Savoy: The Three-Michelin-Starred Chef’s First Appearance on Top Chef

It took twelve seasons before one of France’s most celebrated culinary figures agreed to take part in Top Chef, broadcast on M6.

For the occasion, Guy Savoy challenged the contestants with a refined and symbolic task that reflects his own philosophy of cooking: creating a dish around his signature element — soup.

A bold choice that inspired competitors to push their creativity to the limit in an attempt to rival his iconic artichoke and black truffle soup, one of his most renowned creations.

Born in Nevers, Burgundy, Guy Savoy is a passionate advocate for authentic, terroir-driven cuisine.

He began his career as a pastry apprentice under master chocolatier Louis Marchand, before joining the legendary Troisgros brothers in Roanne — where he also met Bernard Loiseau, whose position he would later take over at La Barrière de Clichy.

After opening his own restaurant, Savoy earned his first Michelin star, followed by a second, and ultimately his third in 2002.

In 2015, he moved his flagship restaurant to the historic Monnaie de Paris, overlooking the Seine, where it has been named the Best Restaurant in the World for four consecutive years.

A true ambassador of French gastronomy, Guy Savoy is known for a cuisine that is both simple and deeply emotional, where each dish celebrates the joy of sharing and the beauty of seasonal ingredients.

For example, the Menu Gustave Eiffel features refined dishes such as:

  • Pressed chicken with celery and foie gras

  • Carrot velouté with lemongrass, ginger, and shrimp tartare

  • Asian-style sweet and sour salmon or roast guinea fowl stuffed with autumn vegetables

  • And for dessert, a passion fruit–raspberry ice cream meringue on a delicate sponge base.

Dinner-show menus start from €140, and lunch-show menus from €130, both including the spectacular revue “L’Oiseau Paradis”, choreographed by Kamel Ouali.
