The former lead dancer of Paradis Latin
In March 2019, Iris Mittenaere, crowned Miss France and Miss Universe 2016, joined the Paradis Latin’s troupe, the oldest cabaret in Paris. Chosen by Kamel Ouali, she was the lead dancer, for several months, of the show “L’Oiseau Paradis”.

Iris Mittenaere was born on January 25, 1993 in Lille, in the north of France. Her parent are both teachers, and she is the youngest in a family of three children. Her parents separated when she was 3 years old. She spent her childhood in Steenvoorde, near the Belgian border, dressing up as a princess and dreaming of glitter. After graduating from high-school, she enrolled at the University of Lille II, in medicine, to pursue studies in dental surgery.
During her fifth year at the University, in May 2015, the destiny of Iris Mittenaere changed. The pretty and brilliant 22-year-old student won the Miss Flanders beauty contest, and then the title of Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais in September. She decided to devote all her time to prepare the election of Miss France. On December 19, 2015, she was crowned Miss France 2016 in her hometown and, to top it all, won the Miss Universe contest in Manila on January 30, 2017.
After her reign as “Miss”, Iris Mittenaere co-hosted in 2018 the third season of Ninja Warrior (a French TV show), and in September of the same year, joined the cast of the ninth season of the TV show Danse avec les stars in which she placed second.

After her remarkable performances as a dancer, Iris Mittenaere was contacted by Kamel Ouali who looked for a showgirl to play the heroine of “L’Oiseau Paradis”, the new show he was creating for the Paradis Latin, a mythical Parisian cabaret. Iris accepted without hesitation to work with the dance teacher of Star Academy (a French TV show), because she has been admiring his work since childhood.
I fulfilled the dream of my childhood. My first concert was the Star Academy. I attended it on my mother's shoulders. It was thanks to Kamel that I asked my mother to enroll me in dance lessons.
True to herself, Iris Mittenaere took up the challenge. With her “typical French beauty and sensuality”, her talents as a dancer and singer, and her passion for the stage, she seduced the audience and participated with the troupe in the revival of Paradis Latin. She was the proud standard-bearer of the cabaret in her many glamorous costumes, performing among exceptional stage sets and meeting the public every night.

Iris left the Paradis Latin’s troupe, but the show L’Oiseau Paradis continues to be performed without her.

Iris Mittenaere passed on the torch to new showgirls who are equally talented, and the show “L’Oiseau Paradis” goes on!
The show is beautiful, modern and very different from the shows of other Parisian cabarets.
